Francis Fire, the Cheshire Fire Extinguisher Company, was requested to attend a new martial arts centre in Cheshire East, by the Responsible Person (RP) under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety Act 2022.
The RP had recently been visited by Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service representatives, who had identified various elements of fire safety legislation that needed to be address as soon as possible, to get compliant.
The said personnel assessed the overall fire risks for the retail unit, confirming the requirement for Portable Handheld Fire Extinguishers, for First Aid Firefighting use, to be in place. Upon arrival, our skilled BAFE Accredited Engineer measured the overall first-floor unit area, considering all elements under British Standards BS5306-3 & 8 including the comments by the said representatives.
A-Class fire risks were identified throughout the unit – the most common type of fire and consists of general combustibles such as wood, paper, and fabric Etc. Electrical fire risks were also identified throughout the unit – electrical equipment such as computers, fridges, portable electrical heaters & cleaning equipment, and extension leads were in place throughout the unit.
