The scheme is designed to observe all aspects of the British Standard BS 5306, which primarily focuses on fire extinguisher installations and equipment on commercial premises. Within the BAFE SP101, the following BS 5306 elements are of the utmost importance: BS 5306-3: This part focuses on businesses providing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers, ensuring that the significance of efficiency and competency of equipment is always highlighted. It also targets the importance of ensuring an extinguisher’s repair status is adequate.  BS 5306-8: This next part handles the selecting and positioning of all portable fire extinguishers and related equipment. Ensuring extinguishers are placed in the correct location for ease of access during an emergency is mandatory. BS 5306-9: This area addresses the functionality of fire extinguishers, accentuating the vitality of recharging extinguishers and keeping them in effective working order.
