Francis Fire was requested to attend a new retail business unit in the Halton area, by the Responsible Person under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Their Fire Risk Assessor had attended the premise a couple of days prior, assessing the overall fire risks for the retail unit, confirming the requirement for Portable Handheld Fire Extinguishers. Upon arrival, our skilled engineer measured the overall site, considering all elements under British Standards BS5306-3 & 8.
A-Class fire risks were identified throughout the unit – the most common type of fire and consists of general combustibles such as wood, paper and fabric. Electrical-Class fire risks were also identified throughout the unit – electrical equipment such as televisions, computers, and extension leads.
Our engineer then proceeded to install Kitemarked EN3/UKCA portable fire extinguisher(s) fire points throughout, consisting of 3-Litre Water Additive (13A) and 2KG CO2 Carbon Dioxide (34B), finished with photoluminescent ID signs, wall mounted with quality hanging brackets.

Furthermore, a 1.2m x 1.2m hard-cased Kitemarked EN3/UKCA fire blanket was installed with a photoluminescent ID sign in the staff kitchen area. Full certification to British Standards BS5306-3 & 8 was met, our engineer issued an attendance certificate confirming the above to the Responsible Person.
Our attendance was achieved within a couple of days of the original request and the customer was left completely satisfied. The said customer is now added to our annual fire extinguisher(s) servicing system in readiness for next year. Fire extinguisher servicing is of course a legal requirement for all non-domestic properties to ensure that extinguishers are still working to full effect and providing the highest level of fire safety.
